JENÍK, L.: Some Perspectives and Challenges of Philosophical Examination of Fiction. Studia Aloisiana, 4, 2013, 2, s. 5 – 24.
The aim of the article is to outline the key concepts of philosophical examination of fiction. Exploring the world of fiction is related with two main philosophical problems, namely the ontological and epistemological status of fiction. The topic of fiction is related to Meinong’s theory of objects and also Searle’s theory of speech acts. Both of these theories explore the nature of fictitious statements and their role in our understanding. The answer to the question „what exists“ is heading to the problem of existence itself.

F. A. von Hayek a jeho abstraktný princíp spontánneho poriadku

RAMPÁČEK, F.: F. A. von Hayek and His Abstract Principle of Spontaneous Order. Studia Aloisiana, 4, 2013, 2, s. 25 – 40.
This article is focused on the fundamental principles, which are necessary for the function of spontaneous order in accordance with the thought of F. A. von Hayek. These principles are identified by Hayek in the necessity of the adoption of and compliance with the abstract rules. According to him the abstract rules are a necessary condition for preserving the freedom of an individual and guarding against tyranny. Thanks to the abstract rules the freedom of an individual is not absolute freedom but freedom within the boundaries of these rules. For Hayek these rules are superior to human reason and the respect of the abstract rules leads human reason to the recognition of human dignity. Arbitrariness and power convert freedom to tyranny and spontaneously become chaotic if the respect toward the abstract rules is refused. This is why Hayek’s spontaneous order presupposes and requires the existence of the abstract rules.

In order to offer a great variety of theological approaches to help married couples live an authentic marriage, the article shows the fundamental call to every human person: to be a child of God. The call to marriage is a secondary one and can flourish only if both, man and woman are aware of being children of God with all consequences, reflected in the article.

PODMANICKÝ, I., PODMANICKÁ, Z.: Demographic and Social Aspects of the Phenomenon of Divorce in Slovakia. Studia Aloisiana, 4, 2013, 2, s. 49 – 68.
Divorces represent the actual social phenomenon, having an impact on all spheres of social life. The article provides current demographic picture of this phenomenon in the Slovak Republic. The data come from the standard demographic statistics survey and from the 2011Census. The article then analyses the factors that influence the stability of marriages and describes the consequences of divorces for society, families and children. It also offers suggestions for social activities and programs that can contribute to more effective support of stability of current family.
