Problém historicizmu vo filozofii K. R. Poppera

BINDER, V.: The Problem of Historicism in the Philosophy of K. R. Popper. Studia Aloisiana, 3, 2012, 4, s. 5 – 14.
This paper is an analysis of the doctrine of historicism, which aims to predict the future of historical development by discovering the laws, which are responsible for the historical development of mankind. According to Popper, this doctrine contains many moral and methodological shortcomings by itself insofar that it is possible to conclude that it is inconsistent. Nevertheless, it is used to interpret history and serves to build socio-political concepts aimed at planning closed totalitarian societies. The most influential advocates of historicism and closed societies were, according to Popper, Plato, Hegel and Marx. The most shocking examples of application of their socio-political ideas in practice are nationalism and communism, which caused much human suffering.

BLAŠČÍKOVÁ, A.: Natural Law Theory according to Thomas Aquinas : The Specification in Perspective of Possibility to Sustain the Universality As Well As the Difference. Studia Aloisiana, 3, 2012, 4, s. 15 – 27.
The paper enounces a renewed interest in Thomas’s theory of natural law in the context of contemporary moral-philosophical scene. It presents several reasons of this turn as well as reasons of its only a partial success. Further, it pursues how the Thomas’s natural law theory can sustain the platform of universality in ethical values, at the same time respecting the historicity and the diversity of subjects and cultures. It shows the neglected difference between the permanent universal and variable derived precepts. Universal principles guarantee the possibility of the agreement in the most universal values. Derived precepts, referring the principles to the unrepeatable circumstances and allowing the graduality of man’s progression in moral life, guarantee the possibility of difference. Finally, the paper concludes that the Thomas’s natural law conception offers the vision of how people as rational beings can arrive to mutual comprehension concerning the most important aspects of the good and the evil, sustaining the cultural differences in which they differ.

KARABA, R.: Central Committees of Catholic Action in Slovakia. Studia Aloisiana, 3, 2012, 4, s. 29 – 45.
The Catholic Action in Slovakia was officially promulgated in 1926. Its major task was to concentrate and reorganize all works in the Catholic Church. Since the beginning, board of Slovak bishops strove to initiate development of the Catholic Action. Therefore they constituted its consultative and central committees which ought to have promoted ideas of Catholic Action in practise as well as became the core of all catholic work. In the period of 1926 – 1948 worked in Slovakia several central committees of the Catholic Action. They worked as consultative organs for Episcopal conference and they stood directly under the bishops. The chair of these committees was held by bishops themselves and also the members were mostly bishops and priests. Their work was divided into individual commissions, sections or departments, which provided professional advices and directed the Catholic Action in particular scopes. In 1948 were the central committees of the Catholic Action cancelled and the whole Catholic Action in Slovakia was interrupted.

ŠMIDOVÁ, M.: Child with Special Needs in the Family – a Greater Risk of Divorce? Studia Aloisiana, 3, 2012, 4, s. 47 – 55.
The article points out that in a society, among us, live families with disabled children that meet with serious problems. Help they need is not often offered to them. In particular, this consists in the synergy between the professional and human assistance. This is the main objective of the Department of Social Work – teaching on the family of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Trnava. Such a family meets various crises. One of the consequences may be a divorce, if there is no condition in a family with a disabled child properly mastered. The article brings the problems of the family in which a child is born with special needs, since the first information about the child’s disability. It discusses the problem that concerns the parents themselves and their ability to cope with this difficult situation. How this affects the quality of their life? The aim of this contribution is to find an effective source of support for families with a child with special needs.
